Black Roberts Spiced Rum
Widely regarded as the most successful plunderer in the Golden Age of Piracy, Bartholomew "Black Roberts" was a master tactician and expert navigator, said to have captured more than 470 ships. His illustrious career began while serving aboard a slave ship in 1719. He was captured by pirates and forced to join their crew. When their pirate captain was killed in the Isle of Princes, the crew elected Bartholomew Roberts as their new captain. Thus was born the legend of Black Roberts. He was killed by the British Navy in 1722. His death is now commemorated by pirate enthusiasts with a celebration known as The Blackest Day, marking the point at which the Golden Age of Piracy came to an end.
