Dr ZenZen Vino
A nice fruity bouquet of berries and cherries introduce this wine. It is a soft smooth red, made for people just starting to get into red wines. A fruit-driven wine, refreshingly light with just a touch of chocolate.
The Zenzen family dates its involvement in the wine business back to the Roman times, and it is officially documented dating back to 1636. In 1939, the Einig-Zenzen company was founded by Jacob Einig and his son-in-law Peter Josef Zenzen. Today our company remains family owned and is managed by the founder’s descendant Dr. Peter Zenzen and his wife Regina Zenzen out of their headquarters in Kaisersesch, Germany.
Dornfelder is a relatively recent arrival on the wine grape scene, having been created in 1956 by August Herold as a crossing of Helfensteiner and Heroldrebe. However, since Helfensteiner and Heroldrebe are also crossings, its lineage includes almost every red wine grape grown in Germany. It is especially important in the Rheinhessen and Pfalz regions and is the second most widely planted red grape variety in Germany.
