This is the most complex of our Washington State Cabernets and offers layers of ripe blueberry fruit with silky tannins.
The grapes sorted for the production of this Barbera come from the very best vineyards of the firm, situated on the hills of “Serra Capelli” and “San Cristoforo”.
Sweet vanilla, spice and ripe berry and black plum on the nose. The palate shows more ripe black berries and mocha, balanced with French oak and vibrant acidity. A well balanced and structured wine.
The history of Orin Swift Cellars dates back to 1995 when on a lark, David Swift Phinney took a friend up on an offer and went to Florence, Italy to spend a semester “studying”. During that time, he was introduced to wine, how it was made, and got hooked. A few more years of university led to graduation and eventually a job at Robert Mondavi Winery in 1997 as a temporary harvest worker. Deciding that if he was going to work this hard, it would eventually have to be for himself, so in 1998 he founded Orin Swift Cellars.
Dark garnet red in colour. The Legacy bouquet delivers enticing aromas of ripe blackberry, leather, and cocoa. Cassis and black currant greet the palate, while lush tannins of almond and baked plum linger in-between. A soft yet structured mouthfeel is complimented with notes of plum and almond on the finish. This age-worthy red blend will only become more expressive with time.

Launched in 2003, The Prisoner soon became the most recognized innovative and unique Napa Valley Red Wine blend, leading the resurgence of blends by incorporating Zinfandel with the unlikely “mix” of Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Petite Sirah, and Charbono.
A perfectly clean nose with an explosion of aromas: black fruit, exotic spices, roasted coffee and hints of cocoa. One can also distinguish some liquorice and violet flower that combine perfectly well. The wine is very generous. The tannins are there, silky and ample, ready for the palate but also promising a great future

This big, ripe wine offers smoky aromas of fig, plum and leather followed by generous flavours of coffee, chocolate, and blackberry in the mid-palate, all finishing with long, silky tannins.
