Malbec World Day is usually celebrated on April 17th, to commemorate the day when president Domingo Faustino Sarmiento of Argentina officially made it his mission to transform Argentina's wine industry. On that day, back in 1853, he tasked Michel Aimé Pouget, a French soil expert, to bring over new vines. Amongst his selection, was Malbec. Malbec flourished in Argentina creating wines widely superior than those of its country of origin.
In our present day, countries around the globe have been producing beautiful bottles of Malbec. The grapes tend to have an inky dark color and robust tannins, and are known as one of the six grapes allowed in the blend of red Bordeaux wine. We are going to celebrate them in-store with a Malbec tasting. Four different wines from regions all over the world. Here at 30th Street Liquor Store we are celebrating the holiday early, on Friday April 14th between 1pm-4pm. Hope to see you,
